Promise

Feb 1, 2026    Dennis Williams

God is a promise keeper. Through the covenant story of Abraham, we see that God doesn’t place the weight of His promises on our perfection, but on His faithfulness. When Abraham is put into a deep sleep and God walks the covenant alone, we’re reminded that God fully carries what He promises to fulfill.

This truth comes into focus when Abraham is asked to sacrifice Isaac, yet declares, “We will return,” trusting God even when the outcome seems impossible. Just as God provided a ram in Isaac’s place, He ultimately provided the Lamb—Jesus Christ—for us. The wood carried by Isaac points to the cross carried by Jesus, revealing God’s plan of redemption.

This message challenges us to trust God’s promises, step forward in faith, and surrender our hearts—knowing God has already fulfilled His part of the covenant.
