Head Pastor Application
Thank you for your interest in the Head Pastor Position at Unity Community Church. On behalf of the Pastoral Nominating Committee, we would like to invite you to learn about who we here at Unity Community Church are and to learn about what we are looking for in a Head Pastor. We are prayerfully seeking our next spiritual leader who will guide and direct Unity Community Church to be everything God has called us to be.
Who We Are:
Unity Community Church is located in Plum Borough, a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA. Plum is a family-oriented community with a great public school system. Unity averages 140 people in attendance for Sunday worship, with an additional online presence of about 30-70 people. Our worship team leads us in song with modern worship music and updated hymns. We have a strong small group ministry, currently having over 150 people involved.
Our mission statement is simple, Share Jesus & Grow Believers. We want to share Jesus with everyone and help believers grow into a full, vibrant relationship with Him. Following Jesus’ example and command, we seek to reach those who are far from God, introduce them to His love, and guide them toward spiritual maturity—equipping each person to reflect Christ in every area of life. Our vision as a whole is to be a loving, Christ-centered community where broken, lost, and hurting people experience God’s grace and learn to extend it to others. Together, we seek to advance God’s kingdom locally and worldwide, living out His call to love, serve, and make disciples.
On any given Sunday, when you enter the church lobby, you will see people socializing in a “café” atmosphere enjoying both hot and cold drinks and a fresh donut. Our goal is to make everyone feel welcome and loved the moment they walk into the church. We are a church that not only serves the adults in our community but also children and youth. Children worship with their families each Sunday morning and then are invited to Unity Kids, our Sunday morning children’s ministry. We have found that this gives kids an opportunity to experience worship but also ensures they have a time set aside just for them to hear the Word of God on their own level. Sunday evenings, students in grades 6 – 12 gather to know, love, and follow Jesus in a personal and lasting way through worship, a Bible teaching and small groups.
At Unity Community Church, we are a vibrant, Christ-centered community committed to growing in faith, serving others, and sharing the love of Jesus in all we do. We strive to be a place where people encounter God, experience authentic relationships, and are equipped to live out their faith in everyday life. Our congregation is comprised of many different denominations, coming together to worship God. No matter who you are or your background, you are welcome to join us every Sunday morning as we celebrate God’s goodness and walk together in His grace.
