Soul Searching: Part 3

Mar 8, 2026    Emily Hill

This message explores what God truly requires of us through Micah 6:8 and Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. Are we living a faith that only comforts us on Sunday, or one that transforms how we live every day?

Looking at the Beatitudes, we discover that Jesus is answering an ancient question: What does God require? Being poor in spirit means recognizing our deep need for God. Mourning our sin leads to real transformation. Hungering for righteousness, showing mercy, and walking humbly shape the kind of life God calls us to live.

Ultimately, this message reminds us that we can’t live this way on our own. That’s why we come to the table of grace—broken but hopeful—trusting that Christ empowers us to live lives marked by justice, mercy, and humble faithfulness in a world that desperately needs it.
