What We Believe
Our Mission
SHARING JESUS and GROWING BELIEVERS
Jesus said “The Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.” Therefore we are commanded to the same. But Jesus did not only want to rescue people from hell, but, in life, to bring them into a right relationship with the Father. The various ministries of Unity Church are not only intended to introduce people to Christ, but also to grow them to “become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
Luke 19:10; Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 4:13
Our Vision
We are a church because God wants us to do something together. Our goal is to further His kingdom worldwide. We strive to become a loving community of believers where broken, lost, and hurting people experience God’s grace personally, and share God’s grace with others.
John 13:34; Matthew 25:32-40; Philippians 2:1-11
Our Core Values
We value worship of God as a lifestyle (John 4:22-24).
We value integrity in our relationships with others (John 13:34).
We value serving our community through living out the gospel of Jesus Christ in our words and actions (Matthew 20:26).
We value sharing the gospel and serving alongside others, regardless of their background, as a witness to the gospel (Acts 1:8).
We value change when it furthers the advancement of God’s kingdom (Isaiah 43:19)
We value the next generation (Matthew 19:14; I Timothy 4:12).
Our Beliefs
Salvation is Found Through Jesus Christ Alone
Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God who died for our sins and arose from the dead and salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:21; Acts 4:12)
The Nature of Scripture
The Bible is the inspired word of God – a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. (2 Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:105)
The Nature of Man
Every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
The Church
The Church is the Body of Christ on earth, it is empowered by the Holy Spirit, and exists to evangelize the non-believer and edify the believer. (Ephesians 4:1-16)
The Deity of Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is God incarnate, God in the flesh, He is the Word made flesh that dwelt among us and in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form. (Colossians 2:9; John 1:1, 14; 14:7; 8:58; 19:7; Romans 9:5; Acts 20:28; Philippians 2:5,6)
God Is Trinity
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:21,22; John 14:10; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
The Virgin Birth of Jesus Christ
Jesus had no human father but was conceived in the womb of Mary his mother by the action of the Holy Spirit. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38)
The Substitutionary Death of Jesus Christ
He was wounded and bruised for our sins. He was chastised that we might have peace; he was lashed – and we were healed! God laid on Him the guilt and sins of every one of us! Christ died once for the sins of all us guilty sinners…that he might bring us safely home to God. (Isaiah 53:6; 1 Corinthians 15:3; 1 Peter 3:18)
The Bodily Resurrection of Jesus Christ
Jesus appeared to his disciples and many others following his resurrection; they touched Him and ate with Him. (Luke 24:39; 1 Corinthians 15:4)
The Physical Return of Jesus Christ to Earth
Jesus Christ will one day return to earth and reign forever as King of kings and Lord of lords. (John 14:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13)
The After Life
The resurrection and assignment of all people to heaven or to hell (John 5:28, 29)
Hell – a place prepared for the devil and his angels (Revelation 20:10,15; Matthew 5:29-20)
Heaven – a place prepared for Christ and his people (Revelation 21:1-4; John 14:1, 23)
